The story of Ugly Bird

My name is Megan. I am originally from Long Island, I now reside in North Carolina with my husband and three boys, we also have a grown daughter. After photographing the beauty of my state with my phone for about a year, my husband spoiled me with my own DSLR. One morning, I went out to take pictures along a local green way and getting lost, I stumbled on a local tail race, and a local birder. This kind gentleman let me follow him around to take pictures of the birds in the area. From there I was hooked! I take pictures at the local lakes and green ways of whatever I happen to see the beauty in. The name Ugly Bird came from one of these outings.

I have since ventured into people photography. I have begun to translate what I have learned through photographing birds to photographing people. I have met some beautiful and interesting people in my journey and hope to continue to do so in the years to come. Since 2023, I have been photographing fashion shows in North Carolina and have fallen in love with the whole vibe in these shows. I love capturing those beautiful, candid moments. I love helping making ideas into visual realities. I love helping people express themselves through the art of photography.
